Did the Brewers just become a threat in the NL Central?

The Milwaukee Brewers just acquired Christian Yelich from the Miami Marlins for 4 prospects and then reached an agreement with Lorenzo Cain for 5-years and $80M.  This is a big move from a franchise that usually does not pay out in the off-season.  Sure, they will dish out some cash for CC Sabathia or Prince Fielder when they are in the Divisional race, but never paying people in the off-season.

So far this off-season the Crew have bolstered their already very good bullpen and signed veteran pitchers Jhoulys Chacin and Yovani Gallardo and this boost to their outfield with defense, speed and hitting makes them a very serious team in the NL Central.

However, I still think they are a very good pitcher away from being taken serious in the NL.  I know they are in talks with Yu Darvish and if they land him, watch out!  The Brewers might be the next NL Central Champions…
