Ben Mcadoo fired after two seasons

ESPN – The New York Giants cleaned house on Monday, firing head coach Ben McAdoo and general manager Jerry Reese in the midst of a 2-10 season.

McAdoo told ESPN’s Chris Mortensen that he was out after two seasons on the job, while sources confirmed the Reese firing.

Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo will be the interim head coach, a source told ESPN’s Dan Graziano. Assistant general manager Kevin Abrams has been named interim GM, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Nobody benches Eli Manning and gets away with it! Listen, Mcadoo was a complete moron and I don’t understand how he ever even had this job – but the Giants looked like they were out there playing hard for him yesterday in a 24-17 loss in Oakland.  The higher ups clearly already had this determined that no matter what happened, Ben was out.

Reese being out actually makes the most sense and I think if Mcadoo didn’t handle benching Eli so poorly, he might have still had his job.  Eli is the face of the franchise, won 2 Super Bowl’s and quite frankly puts asses in seats in New York.  You don’t bench Eli for Geno Smith!

Hopefully Ben learned his lesson for when he is coaching high school football in a couple years.
